NEW JERSEY — When “blessing” New Jersey barbecued cheese was given a new name, the restaurant’s owners were devastated.
A local business owner said that the name is offensive to the residents of the town where the restaurant was located, which is located in nearby Trenton.
The name “Barbecue Grill Lights” is offensive and is not appropriate for the town of Trenton, said the owner, Mark Hennessey.
He said the name should be changed to “Grille Barbecue Lights.”
The Trenton Fire Department said the fire was under control early Saturday morning.
Firefighters said the restaurant has closed indefinitely, and the owner said they will take legal action.
“This has been a tough day for me and for the entire community, but I can assure you that we will get to the bottom of this,” Hennesse said.
